Flint Tropics themed ‘Semi-Pro’ x FILA apparel and footwear collaboration drops today - MLive.com

FLINT, MI -- Teal and orange never looked so good.

Except for in the 2008 sports comedy classic, "Semi-Pro," starring Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson and André 3000.

Today, FILA and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products launched an apparel and footwear collaboration inspired by the movie. The entire capsule features the teal and orange colorway and the Flint Tropics logo made famous by Jackie Moon.

Two Grant Hill 2 colorways, one white and one black, both feature the Flint Tropics logo on the quarter, Semi-Pro branding on the heel and FILA/"Semi-Pro" branding on the sock liners. Both come with custom branded shoe boxes.

Alongside the shoes, the collection features a hooded sweatshirt, t-shirt and shorts.

Grant Hill, the FILA ambassador and former Detroit Piston, features in a campaign video where he is wearing Moon's jersey and showcasing the new collaboration.

Current NBA player Klay Thompson came to a game decked out in a Jackie Moon jersey on Halloween 2018.

Ferrell, who plays Jackie Moon in the film, paid a visit to the Golden State Warriors in March of this year as his on-screen character, complete with Tropics jersey, short shorts and headband.

Flint's OHL team, the Firebirds, have held multiple 'Flint Tropics Night' events, with players decked out in a teal, orang and white jersey paying homage to the film. However, no bears or free corn dogs were involved in the festivities.

The film was shot in part in Los Angeles, Detroit and Flint.

Throughout the movie, Flint residents can recognize the Vehicle City arches over Saginaw Street, Halo Burger, Top Hat car wash and Brush Alley.

The complete "Semi-Pro" x FILA capsule will be available on FILA.com. The Grant Hill 2s are available at ChampsSports.com and select Champs Sports locations, as well as FootLocker.com and select Foot Locker locations in November.
