| 9 Vintage Jeans to Wear This Spring - Vogue Posted: 31 Mar 2020 11:55 AM PDT ![]() It can be easy to fall into a style rut while social distancing and working from home. Day by day, the tailored blazers and black dress pants I once wore to the office are replaced by cozy sweatpants and no-frills tees. But there's one piece of my wardrobe that has yet to be phased out: denim. Yes, I'm aware it's a controversial choice to sport the seemingly least-comfy pants out there, but I've yet to give up on wearing my classic Levi's—even during my morning Zoom meetings. There's something satisfying about slipping on something familiar; it somehow makes me feel more in control of my situation. I even think clearer when wearing them, and find myself doing better work. My colleague Madeline Fass, Vogue's market editor, feels the same way. "For me, a pair of jeans has always been what has made me feel the most like myself, and that feeling doesn't go away when I am in the house," she says. "It feels liberating to swap my pajama bottoms or sweatpants for denim in the morning, even if I'm just moving to the other room." Wondering if there are others out there who are as denim-obsessed as us, Fass and I proceeded to ask our friends what they have been wearing to their home offices. Mine proved to be a surprisingly anti-jean crew: When they found out I still wear denim almost every single day, I was met with shock and horror. One even jokingly called me a "psycho," while another asked, "What are you trying to prove?" referencing this viral tweet. Fass's circle proved to be a tad more open-minded to the idea. "After I shared an outfit pic in jeans around day three of quarantine, it turns out I'm not alone," she says. "Many of my friends and followers were also giving them a try and having success." Slipping on jeans can be a way to instill a little bit of normalcy into the work from home schedule. Sure, they may not be as cozy as sweatpants or your bathrobe, but there are tricks and tips to finding denim that are comfortable. They can—and should—feel like you're wearing pajama pants. Feeling inspired, Fass and I zeroed in on three specific tips for nailing jeans that you'll want to work from home in, plus where to shop the best styles now too. 1. Go Vintage. Now is not the time to break in stiff, raw denim. Fass's number one tip is: "Stick to vintage denim. It is surprisingly comfortable, because they're pre-worn in. They get softer every time you wear them, and almost form to your body." When we discussed this, I realized that most of my favorite pairs in my current rotation are vintage or pre-worn as well. 2. Pick the Right Fit.Presumably, you'll want to wear one thing all day. So look for loose, forgiving silhouettes such as rolled-up boyfriend jeans—basically anything less constricting than pin-thin skinny jeans. Again, pre-owned is a great option here. "Vintage jeans often come in relaxed silhouettes, not skinny or tight," says Fass. 3. Style With Cozy Staples.Just because wearing jeans is slightly dressier than pajamas doesn't mean you have to actually dress up. At the end of the day, working from home is all about comfort, and the way you style your denim shouldn't be approached any differently. Fass suggests throwing on "a sweater, cute socks, and slippers—and you're set!" As for me? I have been enjoying wearing mine with the mounds of graphic tees that I have rediscovered from my high school wardrobe. Below, find nine jeans that fit the criteria. |
| Somehow, These Free People Jeans Are as Comfortable as Sweatpants - The Daily Beast Posted: 31 Mar 2020 09:10 AM PDT For as long as I have worked a full-time job, I always immediately change out of my work clothes as soon as I get home. It's an absolute transformation, a cheap magic trick. I walk into my bedroom as one person and walk out as a another, more comfortable one. It's a satisfying ritual, something that signals the end of a long day. Working from home has made it harder to differentiate when the work day ends, so I've started to get dressed like I would if I was heading into the office, so at 6pm, I can put on my comfy clothes. That is, until I started wearing the Osaka Relaxed Straight Leg jeans from Free People. Made from 100% cotton, you'd think they'd be stiff, rigid, and bulky, but they're none of the above. The cropped, wide-leg silhouette sits on my hips, with enough room at the waist to not pinch when I sit down. There's a subtle darting at the calves to give it a hand-done feel. One look at these and you'd think they're heavy duty workwear jeans, but they're soft to the touch and feel already broken in. The jeans are cut in a way that doesn't feel like you're wearing jeans. Look, I'm the first person to tell you that jeans are normally not comfortable to sit in or lounge in. My boyfriend wears his jeans well past 8:00 pm, after we've eaten dinner and chosen what to watch on Netflix. He sprawls out on the couch in Levi's denim and I give him grief about it all the time. And yet, I throw these jeans on like they're sweatpants, wearing them comfortably until I change into my actual pajamas before bed. I'm breaking my own rules. | Target Universal Thread Jeans Review - The Daily Beast Posted: 28 Mar 2020 01:09 PM PDT The brand shall remain nameless, but I was recently duped into buying a pair of very expensive, super trendy jeans only to have them fall apart on me in a matter of months. I was appalled, naturally. When a person drops $100+ on a product — especially a pair of denim jeans — you expect it to last! In any case, around the same time I found myself at Target — as a 30-something woman often does — browsing the clothing section. I came across a pair of dark denim jeans by Universal Threads (sold only at Target) that were very similar to my destroyed pair but only $30. I had nothing to lose by trying them on, so I grabbed a few different sizes and headed to the dressing room. Friends, I was floored by how comfortable the jeans were, how well they fit, and how well-made they were — especially at $20 to $35 price points. Excited, I went back to the denim section and grabbed three more pairs in the size that fit and was shocked again by the fact that all the other styles fit, as well. (Women, you know how crazy the size game can be even when it comes to differing styles from the same brand). I bought four pairs of jeans that day, friends, and now I swing by the denim section whenever I'm in the store to see if they have any new styles available. Since that day I've amassed seven pairs of Universal Threads jeans and haven't bought a pair from another brand. In addition to the consistent fit and price, I love that there are so many styles to choose from. I do want to note that some styles are technically better quality than others. I find that the pairs with the "ripped denim" effect aren't quite as high quality, and I steer clear of options with the faux pockets (just a personal preference). I stick to the heavier weight options, which are a little higher on the cost spectrum but are ultimately better quality and still really affordable. Bottom line — as someone who's fought the jean fight for years, and who's spent oodles on luxury denim only to be disappointed, I feel like a weight's been lifted. High quality jeans that look good, feel good, earn me compliments, and don't break the bank? It's almost too good to be true, but I'm just over here living my best denim life. | Daisy Keech Flaunts Bodacious Derriere In Denim Blue Jeans - The Inquisitr Posted: 31 Mar 2020 01:12 PM PDT ![]() Blond bombshell Daisy Keech captured the attention of thousands of fans around the world after she posted a series of playful snapshots of herself with her dog that displayed her famous curves on Tuesday, March 31. The American model shared the post on her Instagram account with her 3.4 million followers, and it quickly became a hit. The 20-year-old stunner switched between a variety of playful poses in the slideshow, which consisted of four photos, as she took center stage before the camera. Overall she exuded a happy vibe as she was hanging out with her dog and smiling widely while on a white staircase outdoors. She rocked some light makeup that highlighted her natural beauty and complexion, including a baby pink lipstick, eyelash extensions, a bit of eyeliner, and foundation. Daisy's long blond hair fell down her back and over her her shoulders as it was naturally styled in waves. Furthermore, she kept her hair away from her face with a pink bandana, although some sidebands cascaded down the sides of her face. What stole the show in the snapshots, however, was the model's curvy figure that she displayed in a tight top and a pair of jeans. The model's top, which was cropped as Daisy had tied it behind her back, was white and helped to highlight much of her chiseled core. Furthermore, the skintight garment drew attention to her full-figured assets as she went braless underneath. Daisy paired the top with one of her favorite articles of clothing — denim jeans. The pants, which were a faded blue, showed off the beauty's bodacious derriere as it hugged her curves even though they were a bit loose on her. Daisy finished the look off with a pair of white and sky-blue athletic trainers. She accessorized the casual yet sporty look with a pair of gold earrings and several rings. In her post's caption, Daisy tagged her pup's Instagram handle for any fans who might be interested in following her furry friend. The slideshow was met with instantaneous enthusiasm from many of Daisy's fans as it amassed more than 116,000 likes in just the first half-hour of going live. More than 1,000 fans also relayed their positive reactions in the comments section, praising the model on her outfit and her body. "I love this so much," one user commented. "You are so pretty," a second fan added. "I love you," a third admirer chimed in. "Always incredibly beautiful," another fan proclaimed. The hottie has shared several popular snapshots of herself on Instagram lately. Just on March 23, Daisy posted a stunning photo that displayed her in a butterfly bikini as it flaunted her curvaceous figure, per The Inquisitr. The sexy post amassed more than 400,000 likes. |
