OK, admittedly, you may not think of Amazon when you think about upgrading your wardrobe. You probably think of inexpensive dupes, cotton basics and athleticwear. After all, those are Amazon's best sellers in the fashion category. However, you can find really great, fashionable pieces that will last you a long time — if you know where to look.

I recently scrolled through Amazon's The Drop and found so many cute things! The Drop is essentially limited-edition collections designed by fashion influencers. I ordered five dresses using Prime's "Try Before You Buy" feature, where you can order a dress for $0 down. Then, after you receive it, you have seven days to try it on and decide if you want to purchase it or return it. (FYI, if you don't return it after seven days, Amazon charges your account.)

The Drop

Of all of the dresses I ordered, I'm most in love with this High-Neck Cut-In A-Line Side Slit Maxi Sweater Dress. I'm already adding more colors to my cart. It's part of The Drop's "staples" section, meaning it's a piece you can style in several ways and wear almost anywhere, like your favorite white T-shirt or your go-to jeans.

Immediately after opening the package and feeling the dresses' knit material, I knew I was going to like it. It's 65% viscose and 35% nylon that feels like a tight, soft knit that's stretchy and a little bit heavy, but not thick at all. It feels similar to one of Aritizia's Sculpt Knit tanks. It hugs my body in all the right places, but it's not overly tight. I'm not a fan of bodycon or slim fit things, and when I ordered my usual size, it fit just tight enough around the top and loose enough around my waist.

I was a little surprised at how high the side slit comes up (about mid-thigh), so I may not wear it to the office. But I will definitely wear it to brunches, dinners, parties and more. I plan to wear it on a warm day in the shade with sandals and in the fall season with a leather or denim jacket.

The best part is that the dress is only $49.90. It comes in 11 colors, and it ranges in sizes XX-Small to 5X. I purchased the White/Black Stripe version, and it gives me quiet luxury and nautical vibes. Now I want the Silver Cloud color and the Fire Orange Stripe colors, too.

If you've been looking for a quality dress that looks much more expensive than it is, this is the dress you need to get. If you're a Prime member, you can use the "Try Before You Buy" feature to try it, too. If you're anything like me, you may even want to purchase a few colors.
