When I look for jeans to include in our guides (like high-waisted jeans and mom jeans, for example), I always search for inclusive sizing but often see larger brands making only "standard" sizes. And even certain brands that sell "plus-size" jeans cut corners by working from the same patterns used for their straight sizes, with (o

Co-wners Robin Ebrecht, Angie McClelland and Deb Haring opened Yaya Club Clothing in November 2018 to fulfill a need in the community by providing affordable women's clothing with fashion advice.

"We don't feel like you need to walk into a Neiman Marcus per se, and have to spend $2,500 to get the kind of customer service that we want you to have," Ebrecht said. "You're greeted here with a sales force that is actually trained in what they do. They read trend reports; they shop; they understand color palettes; they understand your body; and it's just an art that's lost."

Ebrecht opened Yaya Club in 2002 in Beaumont. When the Katy-based trio formed last summer, they looked for locations in Old Town Katy and chose to keep the name Yaya Club because they wanted to continue to promote sisterhood, Ebrecht said.

"We had a lady here ... and people were walking in, and we would yell, 'Oh, my gosh, Hey!'" McClelland said. "And [the lady is] like, 'This is the only store you can walk into it and you just feel like you're at home, and everybody's just having a big party.'"

Through customer service and "Sunday Night Live" Facebook videos, Yaya Club helps customers learn how to wear clothes that best fit their body type, the owners said.

"Most people don't know how to wear a lot of clothing and a lot of accessories," Haring said. "If you teach them each time they come in, that's the mission of when they leave; they feel better."

Ebrecht explained why feeling better is so important to the boutique.

"My parents always told me, 'Look good, you feel good, there's a chance you might act good," she said.

Yaya Club embodies this by raising money for local families and nonprofits through philanthropic fashion shows and selling T-shirts to increase awareness for various causes, the owners said.

"There's so much love here," store associate Dina Kuhn said. "It's not just about the business, but it's about the connection and the heart."
