Famed fashion designer Christian Siriano is taking his love for eyewear to the next level. In an effort to provide eyeglass wearers with more personalized options, the Project Runway winner teamed up with Transitions to launch a new line of lens color choices. The partnership led to four new style colors and six style mirror options, now available on the Transitions site.
To celebrate the new products, Transitions Optical hosted an exclusive rooftop event in New York City at Siriano's "The Curated NYC" where Siriano revealed a specially designed "Christian Siriano x Transitions Collection." Siriano says not only are his Transitions lenses a step towards simplicity, but it’s also a trendy move, “the stigma of wearing glasses are gone. People are wearing eyewear as a new accessory, which I really like. I dress Sarah Hyland a lot and she always wears these big oversized glasses. It’s just a look. People are just having fun with it!”.

As a lifelong wearer of glasses himself, Siriano, who is easily recognized by his signature black frames, feels that his collaboration with the Light Under Control campaign is a great fit. “For me personally, I loved the idea that Transitions came out with something a little newer, a little fresher, because obviously, I do have to wear them every day so it’s nice to be able to be in my studio and then go outside for a meeting, or if I’m running around the city, it’s just very helpful that I’m not constantly changing my glasses."
Siriano incorporated the new line of smart adaptive lenses into his Resort 2019 collection which launched earlier this year, “we used the lenses in some of my frames and I think it turned out really beautiful."

The style colors and mirrors in tints like pink and gold complimented his collection’s pre-existing “Barbie picnic” color pallet. “I love the mirror styles that we have. I think that’s something that people are really loving right now, an iridescent, metallic kind of lens moment. Now I have probably too many pairs of transitions lens glasses, but it’s awesome,” says Siriano.
Aside from eyewear, Siriano is keeping busy. He is working on his 2019 collection and filming Project Runway Season 17, which he is participating in as a mentor 10 years after winning the competition in Season 4. The designer also opened The Curated NYC boutique.
All this, and a new fragrance coming soon.
